Qui sommes-nous?
L’association a vu le jour en 1997. Elle est le fruit de nombreuses heures de bénévolat des parents intéressés à initier les jeunes à ce sport en pleine effervescence. Son mandat est très clair: promouvoir et régir la discipline de basketball civil sur le territoire de la ville de Gatineau. Nos activités se déroulent dans le secteur Aylmer, Hull et Gatineau. L’ABG remplit son mandat en étroite collaboration avec le Service des loisirs de la ville de Gatineau qui lui accorde un support technique et logistique grâce au statut de « Grand Partenaire » de l’ABG. Enfin, l’organisme sans but lucratif dûment incorporé offre des services techniques et administratifs à ses membres: formation, supervision et développement des cadres (entraîneurs et joueurs). L’organisme se compose de quelques 500 participants et 100 bénévoles.

Offrir des programmes de basketball de qualité adaptés aux besoins des citoyens de la Ville de Gatineau encadrés par du personnel qualifié dans un environnement inclusif, amusant, stimulant et sécuritaire afin de soutenir le développement de la littératie physique et de l’excellence sportive et d’encourager un mode de vie actif.
